Los Angeles Teens Named to Dragon Kim Foundation’s 2026 Fellowship Class
For 10 years, The Dragon Kim Foundation has inspired youth to impact their communities
while discovering and pursuing their passions
LOS ANGELES, California, June 9, 2026 – Los Angeles residents Selvi Radia (15, Sophomore) and Audrey Lohara, (16, Junior) at Marlborough School, have been named as members of the 2026 Fellowship Class of the Orange County, California-based nonprofit Dragon Kim Foundation - http://dragonkimfoundation.org. This year marks the 10th Anniversary of the Fellowship Program.
Along with other Dragon Fellows, Selvi and Audrey will receive three weekends of leadership training and hands-on guidance from mentors from the community, plus a grant of up to $5,000 from the Foundation to implement a social service project in their local community this summer.
“Second Sentence” is a youth-led initiative designed to provide writing support to upper-elementary, Spanish-speaking English language learners in LAUSD. Through stand-alone workshops, a week-long writing camp, farmers’ market visits, and a web app, Second Sentence will teach students how to write clear and organized paragraphs while developing a more positive relationship with writing. Many students have a true passion for writing and incredible stories to tell, they just lack the confidence and self-esteem to do so. Our hope is that Second Sentence can cultivate a safe space for students to write and share them.
As always, the leadership training, which elsewhere can cost several thousand dollars, is provided for free to each Dragon Fellow. Cumulatively, the projects will benefit thousands of people, including many from socioeconomically disadvantaged communities. At the end of the program, the top teams will present their projects at the CEO Summit and the annual Dragon Challenge, where one team will win additional funding to continue their project.
”We congratulate all of the students who took their time to submit their wonderfully creative entries to the 2026 Dragon Kim Fellowship Program,” said Dragon Kim Foundation Co-founder and CEO Daniel Kim.
“We thank our sponsors, mentors and other supporters for their belief in our program and look forward to completing 10 years of helping teens bring attention to important issues in their communities that need to be addressed.”
The Foundation was established in 2015 in honor of the late Dragon Kim, a talented young musician, athlete, and scholar who wanted to help others. It has become a seedbed for the next generation of creative thinkers and entrepreneurs who want to create positive change.
